During a routine inspection
We were not assured that the provider had adequate arrangements in place for dealing with medical emergencies. During our first visit we found that a number of the emergency sterile equipment items and drugs in the kit had expired. We noted improvements to the kit during our second visit. However, there was no oxygen cylinder available in the practice and not all staff were aware they could access a defibrillator through the main reception area of the White City Health Centre.
People who use the service were not always protected from the risk of abuse, because the provider had not taken reasonable steps to identify the possibility of abuse and prevent abuse from happening.
Arrangements were in place in relation to obtaining medicine.
Staff received appropriate professional development. All staff carried out mandatory training relevant to their practice
There was evidence that learning from incidents took place and appropriate changes were implemented.
