During a routine inspection
All the relatives we spoke with were full of praise for the service. They used words such as brilliant, fantastic and second to none to describe it. A relative told us 'It's very unique service.'
The service had a comprehensive safeguarding children policy and a whistleblowing policy. Records inspected showed all staff had received training in safeguarding children.
There were effective recruitment and selection processes in place. We saw people who worked for the service had completed an application form. Records showed applicants had been interviewed and references had been taken up from previous employers.
People who used the service and their relatives were asked their opinion of the service. We saw 'Quality feedback forms' from May 2013, one person had said, 'I feel the staff have a calming influence on (relative).' Another said, 'I'm very happy with the communication with staff.'
