Honour Health Jesmond

During an assessment under our new approach

We carried out this announced on-site assessment on Thursday 7 November 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. There was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance and infection control procedures were in place. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation. However, we highlighted improvements could be made to processes for carrying out Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and obtaining evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B to protect staff. The practice had systems to manage risks. The assessment highlighted some additional areas of risk for fire safety and receiving patient safety alerts. We were assured these areas would be addressed. Honour Health Jesmond is part of the Honour Health group, which has 3 practices. The practice is in Jesmond and provides NHS and private dental care and treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice. The practice had 7 treatment rooms. At the time of our assessment there were 22 members of staff employed, of which we spoke with 5 dentists, 3 dental nurses, 1 dental hygienists, 1 receptionist and the practice manager.
