During a routine inspection
We were told by people who used the service that members of staff had built up a good working relationship with the people they were providing care to. One person who used the service said, "I am very happy, they are lovely girls, smashing. They are never in a rush to go home, they always make sure I'm alright before they leave."
The provider had a safeguarding policy. This policy contained relevant information and explained what abuse was and where care staff could report safeguarding concerns, should they arise.
We found people who used the service were safe and their health and welfare needs were met by staff who were fit, appropriately qualified and physically able to do their job. A person who used the service said, "I am absolutely over the moon with them all, It's not like strangers coming in."
We found systems were in place to monitor the performance of individual members of care staff. This involved visits by the manager to people who used the service in order to observe work practices and ensure care staff were delivering the care and support they needed.
