During a routine inspection
All journeys were pre booked and peoples' consent to being transported was assumed. No one was transported against their will.
There was frequent contact between the service and the service commissioners to ensure journeys were provided within the contractual framework. Vehicle crews were not expected to communicate any clinical information on behalf of patients or other services.
Procedures were in place to help ensure the vehicles were clean and the risk of cross infection was minimised.
Vehicles were regularly maintained. They were withdrawn from service if they needed repair or were in any way unsafe.
Staff were vetted to help ensure people in their care were safe.
