During a routine inspection
We saw patients had a good relationship with the staff and they were greeted in a polite and respectful manner when they arrived at the practice. There was sufficient information available to help patients make informed choices.
We found patients gave consent to their care and treatment and they received care and treatment that met their needs. One patient said, 'The dentist always discusses any treatment options with me before delivering any treatment. We always talk through what they are going to do.'
We found the practice to be calm and relaxed. The patients we spoke with were complimentary about the staff who worked there. One patient said, 'They make you feel welcome. I have been coming here a long time and the staff are very nice.'
We found the practice was clean and tidy with two named staff members responsible for ensuring the service adhered to the code of practice for infection control . The practice manager told us there was some refurbishment being undertaken, which we saw during our visit, but this did not impact on the patients when they received any treatment.
We saw the practice supported the staff to complete their continuing professional development and when required they attended training courses accordingly.
We saw copies of assessment and monitoring of the quality of the service that had been provided.
