During a routine inspection
We spoke to people about how they were involved in their or their relatives care. One person told us, 'If I need something done they always do it for me. They always ask what I need help with'. A relative whose parents receive a service told us, 'It's a chance for them to keep their independence. The manager involves me as well as them. They keep me informed and give me feedback'.
People told us the service they received was good. One person told us, 'It's excellent. It's been a great asset to me. I'd recommend it to my friends'.
People told us they were safe. One person told us "I feel safe. I can ring them up anytime I'm stuck". Two people's relative told us, 'They're safe and I have peace of mind'.
We looked at the personnel files for two of the three employed care workers. We found a record of either a Criminal Records Bureau (CRM) or Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) enhanced disclosure on both care worker files. These checks had been issued before each care worker started work with the provider.
We saw that the provider had recently conducted a quality assurance survey. We saw that all surveys and comments received showed people were happy with the service. For example one relative wrote, 'they came to the rescue at very short notice. They have been excellent with care and communication'.
