During a routine inspection
Staff had all attended emergency training yearly, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) this was recorded in staff files. All the staff we spoke with understood what to do in an emergency.
We spoke with two people who used the service both told us they felt safe with the staff, one person said, 'safe, I'm completely safe.' Several of the relatives told us they felt very confident that their loved ones were safe. One said, 'I feel 100% that my child is safe.'
Appropriate checks were undertaken before staff began work. We reviewed five staff files, we saw they were in good order and easy to find information. The manager told us that no staff members would start work until all the checks had been completed and had attended the staff induction day.
The provider did not have an adequate system in place to monitor the quality and safety of the service, by not having these systems people who use the service may not be protected from the risks associated with unsafe care, treatment and support.
