Condition of this registration relating to carrying out this regulated activity
Within 14 days of this condition taking effect, the Registered Provider must
implement an effective audit and monitoring system, to include monthly audits
in relation to (but not limited to) the following areas:
a) Safe medicine management and administration, to ensure staff have clear
information and guidance on the support service users need with prescribed
medicines, including ‘as and when’ (PRN) medications, and medicine
administration records are accurate, up to date and complete;
b) Punctuality and duration of service users’ care calls, to ensure service users
consistently receive the agreed care to meet their needs;
c) Service users’ care plans and risk assessments, to ensure these contain
clear information and guidance for staff on managing and minimising known
risks. This includes risks associated with service users’ catheter care and
mobility;
d) Staff recruitment procedures, to ensure that all relevant pre-employment
checks are completed before staff commence their employment.
Within 28 days of this condition taking effect and then on the first Monday of each
calendar month thereafter, the Registered Provider must send to the Commission a
written report outlining the findings of these audits. The report should contain details
of the timescales for improvements, who will be responsible for them and what the
quality assurance arrangements will be going forward to ensure that the agreed
actions are completed.
