This responsive assessment was carried out to check if the service had made improvements since our last inspection. This assessment was carried out by one Assessor and two Inspectors. Assessment activity started on 8 July 2024 and ended on 20 August 2024. We carried out the site visit on 11 July 2024. We looked at 15 quality statements as part of this assessment. The Paddocks is a residential care home providing accommodation with personal care for up to 8 people living with a learning disability. At the time of this assessment, 7 people were living at the service. People living in the home have their own bedrooms and there are shared communal spaces, including lounges, a kitchen and a garden area. We found improvements had been made with sharing learning with staff members following incidents to minimise the risk of reoccurrence. We expect health and social care providers to guarantee people with a learning disability and autistic people respect, equality, dignity, choices and independence and good access to local communities that most people take for granted. ‘Right support, right care, right culture’ is the guidance CQC follows to make assessments and judgements about services supporting people with a learning disability and autistic people and providers must have regard to it.
