The Registered Provider for The Ashton Care Home, John Street, Hinckley LE10 1UY must carry out a review of the governance and quality assurance and monitoring systems to ensure that:

• risks to service users, including risks from poor nutrition and hydration, are managed; care plans and monitoring forms must reflect service users’ current needs
• infection control and prevention risks are managed; staff must adhere to safe procedures at all times, including the wearing of appropriate personal protective equipment
• care records reflect service users current needs; care plans are updated in a timely manner
• systems and procedures to assess and monitor the quality of care provided are implemented effectively.

The registered provider must send to the Commission an updated action plan on the first Monday of each month. The action plan must detail the improvements made in response to the above conditions and the impact those improvements had on the quality and safety of the service people receive. The action plan will also detail management and provider oversight of the service. This will include any proposed revision of the action plan.
