Peoples experience of care and support was dependant on which unit they lived on. Our assessment showed people did not always experience person-centred care on one of the units. Staff did not always follow people's care plans. Putting people at potential risk. The systems and processes to actively seek out the views of people and their relatives to continuously improve the service required improvement. Restrictions were clearly detailed in plans of care, and people’s capacity and where required mental capacity assessments and DoLS were in place.

Equity in experiences and outcomes
Our assessment showed there were inequalities in experience and outcomes depending on which unit the person lived on.
Equality, diversity, and human rights were covered in peoples plans of care and detailed how to respect these. However, our observations showed some staff did not have a good understanding of person-centred care. This resulted in some people not being given choice and control in their lives.
People had care plans in place that detailed their required care and support and any barriers to providing this. This ensured staff were able to meet people's needs. However, we found some inconsistencies in plans of care and others although very detailed were not always followed. Putting people at potential risk.
