This service scored 71 (out of 100) for this area. Find out what we look at when we assess this area and How we calculate these scores.
Person-centred Care
People’s feedback indicated they received care that was centred on them and their specific needs, resulting in positive outcomes. One person told us, “I do know I’m very happy here and that they (staff) love me…I get lots of hugs and I like it. I feel wanted.” A relative said, “There is a low staff turnover here and I think the staff know [family member] well.”
Staff were able to explain their role in respect of each person they supported without having to refer to people’s records. This was because they knew the person, their needs and their preferences, well. A staff member told us, “People have been here a long time and we know them very well. We talk to people individually and find out what they would like.” Another staff member said, “I know people so well here as I have been here so long and know what people really like.”
Staff provided care and support to people that reflected people’s choices and preferences. Staff made sure people were happy and comfortable with the care provided and listened to people’s thoughts and views about this. If people wanted to have their care provided in a different way, staff respected this and delivered this in line with people’s wishes.
