Well-led
The provider had an effective audit and governance system in place to provide oversight of the service. Action plans were in place to improve the quality and safety of the service. Staff were positive about the leadership and felt supported in their role.

Staff knew the visions and values of the service and told us they were involved in service planning. The manger said, “It is about involving staff with regular supervisions and team meetings.”
The provider had an equality and diversity policy, and all staff were up to date with their training.
Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
Staff told us they felt supported by the managers. A staff member told us the managers were visible in the service. The manger conducted a daily walk round and said they were supported by the providers.
Training and recruitment processes were in good order and up to date. Action plans were reviewed from team meetings and the manager worked hard to instil and promote a good culture. The manager had completed further training and had the skills and knowledge to develop her role.
Freedom to speak up
People told us they would feel confident speaking up if they had any concerns and felt they would be supported by the managers. Staff told us they could also raise concerns in team meetings and supervisions.
The provider had a whistle blowing policy, staff knew how to access the policy and had a good understanding of whistleblowing.
Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion
The manager told us they have some staff on flexible rotas and try and support staff with children as much as possible. Staff we spoke to told us the managers were very fair and they felt they all had the same opportunities.
Supervisions and appraisals were in place for staff to raise any issues or request flexible working arrangements. The provider has a bullying and harassment policy.
Governance, management and sustainability
Staff had a good understanding of what was involved within their role. Managers told us they would always ensure audits were completed with action plans.
Audits were completed to a good level and the provider had regular meetings with the manager to discuss audits and action plans. Notifications were submitted to the CQC as required.
Partnerships and communities
People told us they enjoyed going into the community. A relative said, “There is a day centre that is attended for 5 days.”
The manger told us they work with a range of community services, including dentist, social workers, SALT community learning disability services and GP’s.
Professionals told us staff engage well with them and ensure people have access to community services. One professional said, “Staff are always willing to try different things to improve people’s access to the community.”
Staff worked well with other community services to ensure care was streamlined. People had referrals to external services to ensure care was seamless.
Learning, improvement and innovation
Staff told us they would be supported to complete further training to improve their role in the organisation. A staff member told us they also complete questionnaires to review the quality of the service and care provided.
The manger had regular meetings with the provider to review and improve the quality of the service. People and their relatives completed questionnaires and action plans were in place to improve their outcomes.
