Our view of the service
Royal Manor Nursing Home is a residential and nursing home, for up to 30 people. At the time of our assessment 27 people were using the service. We completed this assessment between 7 May and 17 May 2024. We visited the service on the 9 May 2024. We spoke to two people’s representatives and five people that were living at the home. At the last inspection this location was rated as good. We assessed 12 quality statements under the five key questions of safe, effective , caring, responsive and well led. We assessed these 12 quality statements as good and the overall rating for the service remains good.
People's experience of this service
People and their relatives spoke positively of the care and support received. People said they felt safe, and their relatives felt their loved one’s needs were met by staff who knew them well. People’s relatives told us they were kept informed of the care their loved ones received. People were supported by sufficient numbers of trained staff who were recruited safely to meet their needs. People were protected from the risk of abuse and they told us they felt safe at the service. Risks to people had been assessed and reviewed on a regular basis. People were supported to have maximum choice and control of their lives and staff supported them in the least restrictive way possible and in their best interests; the policies and systems in the service supported this practice. People were supported to pursue hobbies of interest to them and maintain relationships with people who were important to them. Care plans provided information about people's choices and preferences. Staff training was relevant and up to date. People had access to healthcare and staff followed external professionals’ guidance. Information was appropriately shared with other health professionals to ensure people’s needs were met. The management team ensured that the views of people using the service and their loved ones were sought to enable improvements to be made as required.
