Our view of the service
Prior Bank House is a residential care home that can accommodate up to 32 people. At the time of the assessment there were 31 people living at the service. Prior Bank House specialises in the care of older people. We rated this service under our previous methodology on 5 February 2020, where it was inspected and rated good overall, and for all key questions. We carried out this assessment on 6 February 2024. We looked at 6 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Infection prevention and control; Independence, choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes. We found the service remains rated good overall.
People's experience of this service
People told us they felt safe, knew staff well and felt confident to raise any concerns. People’s comments included, “Staff are kind, nothing is too much trouble” and “They [staff] are all so kind, they never get frustrated with anyone.” Relatives spoken with made positive comments about the care their family member had received. Relative’s comments included, “My relative is safe with the staff. They are well trained, their manner is appropriate, and they seem sensitive to individual’s needs” and “I think they [staff] treat everybody individually, they recognise their likes and needs.” Relatives told us there was a calm, unhurried atmosphere in the care home and staff were described as friendly and approachable.
