Caring
People received care from staff who were kind and caring. People and their families had opportunity to be involved in decisions about their care and support and creating their care plans.

Independence, choice and control
Staff gave examples of how they promoted people's independence, choice, control and dignity over their care. Staff told us, "We support people with their personal care, reassure people, maintain privacy and dignity". Another member of staff told us, "Yes people have a choice here". They went on to say they encouraged people to carry out aspects of their personal care they were able to.
People told us they were supported to have choice and control over their care which included seeing friends and family and accessing the community. Comments included, "There is open visiting and someone will take me to my local church. They will also take me to church activities once a fortnight (with) communion". People spoke highly of the management of the service saying they were very supportive.
The service had processes to ensure care plans reflected people's independence and their individual choice and control.
