Caring - This key question has been rated Good. This meant people were supported and treated with dignity and respect. They were involved as partners in their care. People and their relatives consistently told us they were supported and treated well. People's diverse needs and experiences were equally respected. People were encouraged to express their views and make decisions about their care. People's privacy, dignity and independence were well respected and promoted. We observed people to be treated with respect and care throughout our visit, staff continuously involved people and respected their choices.

We observed people to be treated with respect and care throughout our visit, staff continuously involved people and respected their choices.

People’s care plans recorded how staff should support them to make choices. This included recording people’s communication needs so staff understood how to provide people with information and how people communicated their choices and preferences. Care plans also contained personal information about people's backgrounds, this supported staff to gain an understanding of the people they were supporting.

Staff told us how they promoted people's independence and were knowledgeable on treating people with dignity and respect. One staff member told us, “Treating each person with dignity is key.” And another staff member told us, “Independence for each person is different, could be going out, could be to be more involved with meals, it really depends on each person. We have worked hard with one person to build their confidence about going out more.”

People told us about the hobbies and interests they pursued and how staff supported them with this. One person told us "Staff are kind, they go where I want". And another person told us, “Staff are good, they helped me to get a job."
