Our current view of the service

Updated 25 July 2024

We carried out this on-site announced assessment on 6 December 2024. We found the practice had met regulations. Patients’ care and treatment was provided in line with current guidance, and infection control procedures were in place. The practice had systems to manage risks. Recruitment procedures reflected current legislation and there was effective leadership and a culture of continuous improvement. Patients were treated with dignity and respect and at the time of our assessment, could access care, support and treatment when required. The Brace Orthodontic Group – London City is located in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and provides private orthodontic treatment for adults and children. There was step free access to the practice and car parking spaces, including dedicated parking for disabled people, were available near the practice. The practice had 5 treatment rooms. During the assessment we spoke with the principal orthodontist, 2 qualified dental nurses, 1 trainee dental nurse, the receptionist and the practice manager.

People's experience of the service

Updated 25 July 2024

Two weeks before our onsite assessment, we asked the practice to encourage patients to share their views of the service with us. We did not receive any feedback from patients. On the day of our assessment, we spoke with and saw patient feedback from 5 patients. In addition, we reviewed patient feedback collected directly by the practice. Patient feedback provided a positive view of the dental team and care provided by the practice. One patient told us that they were very happy with the treatment they had received, and they had noticed a dramatic improvement to the alignment of their teeth. Patients commented positively about the standards of cleanliness. Patients felt able to book appointments within an acceptable timescale for their needs and said they had enough time during their appointment without feeling rushed. Patients told us that due to the technology used by the practice, they did not need to attend the practice so often, as the movement of their teeth was monitored remotely after they had scanned their teeth using their smartphone. One patient said, “[the technology] is super user friendly and I get really fast responses.” Another patient said, “It feels like I have constant support and continuous monitoring on my progress.” Patients told us they were given clear information to help them make an informed choice about their treatment and any associated costs. They were involved in decisions about their care, supported to maintain their oral health and were provided with appropriate information and resources. The practice shared patient feedback with the team. We were told this was reviewed and where suggestions had been made, appropriate action would be taken.
