We did not look at Assessing needs during this assessment. The score for this quality statement is based on the previous rating for Effective.
Delivering evidence-based care and treatment
Some people told us they were not involved in the planning and writing of their care plan. They also told us they could not remember consenting to care and treatment. For example, 1 person said, "I haven't been involved in writing anything about me." Another person commented, "I know there is a care record, but I haven't seen it. I don't remember signing anything." However, care records did demonstrate that people had been involved in their care plans.
Staff told us they had 1 to 1 meetings with people. For example, 1 staff member told us, "We speak to people weekly about their care and what they need." Some staff could not detail if people had been involved in the planning and writing of their care plan.
Records showed, and staff confirmed, they received training updates in subjects such as safeguarding and moving and handling. However, there were gaps in staff training which did not ensure they were up to date with legislation and current evidence-based good practice and standards.
