Kindness, compassion and dignity
On the day of inspection, we spoke with 3 patients. All 3 patients told us that they would recommend the practice to their family and friends. Staff helped patients to be involved in decisions about their care and gave patients clear information to help them make informed choices about their treatment. Patients said staff were professional, courteous, and considerate. Patients felt they were treated as individuals, and their personal and cultural needs were respected. The practice collected patient feedback and reviewed it on a regular basis to look for themes and trends. Feedback was discussed in practice meetings.
Staff were aware of their responsibility to respect people’s diversity and human rights, and the importance of patient privacy and confidentiality. Staff felt respected, valued and supported in their roles. One staff member said, ‘all employee’s opinions are listened to.’ Leaders described how they supported the wellbeing of staff.
We did not receive any information from partners.
The practice had information governance arrangements and staff were aware of the importance of protecting patients’ personal information. Staff password protected patients’ electronic care records, and paper records were stored securely and complied with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR). We saw the general environment helped to protect patients’ privacy and dignity. Staff treated patients with kindness, respect and compassion.
