Our view of the service
Pippins Residential Care Home is a residential care home providing personal care for up to 21 people. At the time of our assessment there were 14 people using the service. We spent time with, and spoke with 4 people living at the service, 2 relatives, 6 members of staff and 2 medical professionals, to help us assess and understand how people’s care needs were being met. We carried out our on-site assessment on 21 May 2024, and our off site assessment activity started on 22 May 2024 and concluded 3 July 2024. We looked at quality statements; safeguarding; involving people to manage risks; safe and effective staffing; infection prevention and control; medicines optimization; capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders; partnership and communities and governance, management and sustainability. The assessment was undertaken by 1 inspector and 1 regulatory coordinator.
People's experience of this service
People’s feedback about the quality of care and the staff, was positive. People told us they felt safe living at the service and staff knew them well. People also told us they were supported to enjoy activities. People were confident in how to make a complaint and any issues would be resolved by the management team. People expressed they felt staff were knowledgeable and had received appropriate training to support their care and support needs.
