Our view of the service
Date of assessment: 15 July to 18 July 2024. Alexandra Road Surgery is an NHS GP practice located in the coastal town of Lowestoft, Suffolk in an area of high deprivation. There were approximately 15,000 people registered with the service at the time of our assessment. We conducted this assessment due to the length of time since the practice received a rating of requires improvement overall in 2021. We assessed 3 key questions safe, effective, and well-led rated requires improvement previously. We combined the scores with the other 2 key questions caring and responsive rated good at the previous inspection. We assessed and scored 21 quality statements in the 3 key questions we assessed. At this assessment, we found safety was well managed and the provider investigated concerns appropriately. Staff provided effective care and treatment and involved people in the decisions about their care, supporting them to ask questions. The provider had effective governance systems, which were regularly reviewed and updated.
