Date of assessment: 3 December 2024. This assessment was brought forward to complete the responsive key question. The service is a residential care home providing support to older people living with dementia, frailty or physical disabilities. Kings Court was a safe and happy home with confident, calm and caring staff. The home was clean and well organised. Policies and procedures ensured staff understood their roles and responsibilities. Care was carried out by trained staff, who supported people to be as independent as possible. People had safe, well managed care, with clear, detailed care plans and risk assessments. Other healthcare professionals were involved in care planning when necessary. The registered manager told us people and families were involved in creating the care plans. There were staff available to assist people who needed it. Staff told us they were happy working at the home. A lounge on the first floor had been rearranged to allow more space and people were asked if they wished to take part in activities when they occurred on the ground floor.
