Caring
People spoke positively of the staff approach and staff responded to people's immediate needs well. People told us they knew the people they were supporting well, and feedback from people and their relatives confirmed this.

Responding to people’s immediate needs
People spoke positively of the staff approach and did not disclose any concerns around they way staff supported them. A person told us, "I have been made to feel really welcome. Staff always have time for you and listen". Another commented, "It was difficult for me but the staff here worked incredibly hard to make it good for us. The staff are incredible, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them."
Staff appeared to have developed a good rapport with the people they supported, and understood their needs well. Staff were able to describe how they support people in a way that respected people's wants, needs and wishes. A staff member told us, "I have a really good relationship with the people I support at the moment. We get on well. When people are struggling it helps if there is a successful relationship."
During the assessment we observed people and staff communicating in a respectful and friendly way. Staff were offering people choices around activities and people genuinely appeared to have developed meaningful relationships.
