Caring
We found the Trust had implemented effective measures to address the issues we had identified during our previous inspection. There were clear processes in place for staff to provide patients with care which was dignified.

Kindness, compassion and dignity
People’s privacy and dignity was respected and upheld at all times. At our previous inspection we found that staff had failed to treat a patient with dignity and respect or provide care in a compassionate way whilst administering medicines. During this inspection, patients told us that staff were kind and compassionate when they spoke with them.
At our previous inspection we found that staff had failed to treat a patient with dignity and respect or provide care in a caring and compassionate way whilst administering medicines. During this inspection we found that managers had promptly investigated the concerns and prompt action was taken. Managers spoke highly of the new mental health team and told us that they cared for patients in a compassionate manner. The trust had re-circulated relevant policies and protocols, including the specialist and secured services directorate refusal of examination, treatment or intervention protocol; this had recently been re-ratified following minor amendments. Staff had a good understanding of how to provide treatment in a caring and compassionate way.
We observed positive interactions between nursing staff and patients during the inspection.
