We looked at 3 quality statements under this key question. The rating for this key question has remained good. This meant the service was consistently managed and well-led. Leaders and the culture they created promoted high-quality, person-centred care.

Capable, compassionate and inclusive leaders
Care staff spoke positively about the management team and valued the support provided by them. One staff member said, “I have worked for a few care agencies and this is the best.” Staff valued the flexibility of the work and told us the management team always did their best to accommodate their work preferences. One staff member said, "The organisation are very supportive and flexible." Another staff member told us they were given time off to go to college one day a week. Staff told us communication within the organisation was effective and that the 'on-call' manager was always available and responded quickly. The management team led by example and implemented a range of policies that promoted equality, diversity and inclusion and person-centred care.

Workforce equality, diversity and inclusion

Governance, management and sustainability
Staff told us they felt supported by the management team and by their colleagues and that the service was well organised. Staff told us morale was good at the service and they enjoyed their work. Management completed 'spot check's and staff supervision to ensure care staff were working appropriately. Annual appraisals were completed.
A proactive management team had oversight of the service. The management team were in the processes of updating systems, moving from paper to digital systems. The management team had governance systems in place to monitor different aspects of the service, such as the daily records, medicines charts and care plans. The management team worked to keep clients safe through monitoring accidents, incidents and complaints. Clients were given information about how to make a complaint when they first started using the service. There were systems in place to easily communicate with staff.
Partnerships and communities
The Local Authority had been working with the service to support their ongoing improvement and they shared positive feedback about the progress that had been made so far.
