Our view of the service
Windmill Court is a 'care home' that provides nursing care and support to older people some of whom may be living with dementia. People in care homes receive accommodation and nursing or personal care as single package under one contractual agreement. The service accommodates up to 34 people . On the day of the inspection 31 people were living at the home. We carried out our on-site assessment on 15 February 2024 , off site assessment activity started on 13 February 2024 and ended on 27 February 2024. We looked at 7 quality statements; Safeguarding; Involving people to manage risks; Safe and effective staffing; Independence, choice and control; Equity in experiences and outcomes; Freedom to speak up and Governance management and sustainability. At our last inspection the service was rated good. At this assessment the service remains good.
People's experience of this service
People told us they felt safe living at the service. People told us staff were caring, friendly and responded when they asked for assistance. We observed staff chatting to people, supporting them to move around the service. The atmosphere was relaxed. Relatives told us they believed their family members were safe and staff were approachable.
