Our view of the service
Valley Park Care Home is a residential care home that can accommodate up to 52 people. At the time of the assessment there were 49 people living at the service. Valley Park specialises in the care of older people, including people living with dementia. We rated this service under our previous methodology in May 2019, where it was inspected and rated requires improvement. We carried out this assessment in November 2024. We looked at all quality statements in safe and well led, and an additional 2: independence choice and control and Equity in experiences and outcomes. We found the service had made improvement and is rated good.
People's experience of this service
People told us they felt safe, knew staff well and felt confident to raise any concerns. People’s comments included, “I feel safe here because there are people around. They are all kind and lovely here.” And “When I ring my buzzer they come straight away.” Relatives spoken with made positive comments about the care their family member had received. Relative’s comments included, “I feel my [relative] is safe here. I have no worries about any of the staff.” And “It is friendly, and all the staff are lovely. They have lots of singing and things going on weekly.”
