People’s personal, cultural, social and religious needs were understood and met. Equity in experiences and outcomes
People’s care, treatment and support promoted equality and protected their rights. Relatives told us their family members were treated in a way that recognised their particular needs. Activities provided were varied and regular. The atmosphere in the home was lovely, it was inclusive, caring and positive. People spoke highly of the activities provided and staff promoted people’s wellbeing.
Staff respected and appreciated people's backgrounds and cultural values, fostering a positive, welcoming and inclusive culture within the service.
Staff received training in equality and diversity. The service complied with legal equality and human rights requirements, including avoiding discrimination, having regard to the needs of people with different protected characteristics and making reasonable adjustments to support equity in experience and outcomes. The service provided information to people who had a disability, impairment or sensory loss that they could easily read or understand and with support. This helped them share their experience of care. The service actively sought the views of people and their relatives so they could make improvements.
