Effective
People's needs were assessed and planned for. People consented to their care and treatment. People were supported to manage their own health and understand how to make healthy choices. Staff worked with other external professionals to help ensure people received holistic care which reflected best practice. We did not assess all the quality statements within this key question. We did not identify concerns relating to these areas which we judged as being met at our last inspection.

Assessing needs
People's needs and choices were assessed. They and their relatives told us they had met with the registered manager and had opportunities to discuss their needs and visit the service before moving there.
Staff explained they discussed people's needs with them on a regular basis to make sure assessments and care plans were up to date and reflected these needs.
External professionals told us they were involved in assessments.
The provider carried out a range of assessments about people's health, wellbeing and risks. They used these to help create personalised care plans.
Delivering evidence-based care and treatment
People received care which reflected good practice because staff worked closely with other professionals and involved people in planning their own care.
The staff told us they completed training around mental health needs and learning disabilities. They were able to apply this learning to understand about people's needs and provide support in line with best practice. Staff explained how they supported people to attend appointments or to remind them about these and ensure they met with healthcare professionals. Staff also explained how they promoted healthy lifestyle choices, with diet, exercise and good mental health.
Care plans were detailed and showed people's choices and needs. There was evidence of regular consultation with different professionals.

Consent to care and treatment
People were involved in making decisions about their care and support. They had the capacity to consent to decisions and had done so.
Staff had undertaken training about the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and understood their responsibilities.
The provider had explained about people's care and treatment and they had consented to this.
