The practice understood the needs of its local population and had developed services in response to those needs. There was information available for patients to support them to understand how to access services. Leaders and staff proactively sought ways to address barriers to improve people’s experience. The practice offered a range of appointment types to suit different needs.

Feedback provided by people using the service via give feedback on care was positive. Stating staff treated people equally and without discrimination throughout the service.

Staff told us about various literature in the practice to support non-English speaking patients and they had access to language lines. Staff told us about a vulnerable patient list and how they manage this cohort to ensure they have enough time in the practice through extended appointments to meet their needs, the practice also offered a direct line for these patients to prevent delays. Staff understood the importance of providing an inclusive approach to care and made adjustments to support equity in people’s experience and outcomes.

The provider had processes to ensure people could register at the practice, including those in vulnerable circumstances such as people with no fixed address. The practice had information available in alternative formats and equipment in place to support patients who had a hearing impairment. The practice had access to a social prescriber to support people with social needs, such as those experiencing social isolation or housing difficulties.
