People were supported to be as independent as possible.

Independence, choice and control
People told us they were encouraged to do as much as possible themselves such as going to the shops and care workers were there to support them when needed.
Care workers explained they helped people remain as independent and active as possible. A care worker said, “If people can be as active as possible it is good for them and us and it will help their mind.”
People’s care plans included information on how the person wanted their care provided including their preferences and wishes. The care plans also included guidance for care workers on how to support the person with daily life and doing activities they enjoy.
